Yesterday RYP hosted some students working on senior projects revolving around K9 nosework. After lecture and discussion about all things stinky we worked dogs at various levels of tracking/trailing, blood tracking wounded game and scent detection. One of the student’s own dogs, ‘Mel’, began learning the art of manhunting and showed immediate promise! I was first introduced to K9 work in high school (took my first bite a suit at 14 years old) - definitely fun teaching other young and enthusiastic students...perhaps passing along the K9 bug like it was passed along to me...#workingk9s #scentdetection #trackingdogs #runyourpack
